THE 3 SCHEDULED STAGES

The iconic Belluno Dolomites host this first stage of the PEDALITALY GRAN XMAS circuit.

PEDALITALY Cortina Virtual Race enables you to ride along the roads of an area of infinite scenic beauty.

On the 5th of December, you too can take part in the PEDALITALY Cortina Virtual Race for FREE.

The start is located on the shores of the small Lake of Landro on the border between the provinces of Bolzano and Belluno.

The route will continue in the direction of the municipality of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the prestigious resort known as the “pearl of the Dolomites”. From here you’ll take the road that climbs up to the Passo Tre Croci at an altitude of 1800 metres and then descends towards the junction of the SR48 road. There will be only 2,000 metres of easy ascent left  before reaching the Lake of Misurina in the presence of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

The majesty and wonder of nature in the Gran Sasso National Park is the podium for this second stage of the PEDALITALY GRAN XMAS circuit.

PEDALITALY Gran Sasso Virtual Race enables you to ride in a territory with truly unique characteristics among the modelled peaks of Abruzzo and in the name of pure and natural simplicity.

The route will start from Castel del Monte, a small village certified as one of the most beautiful in Italy. The road then climbs for about six kilometres up to the Capo la Serra pass at an altitude of 1600 metres, and once over the pass, the route officially enters the Campo Imperatore plateau. This area of glacial origin takes on the natural characteristics of Tibet. From the route it is possible to see, in addition to the wide expanse of unspoilt nature, the peaks of Monte Prena, Monte Informace and Corno Grande, which is almost 3000 metres high.

The last part of the route will be a climb of about 8km that reaches the Campo Imperatore astronomical observatory at an altitude of 2100m, which has been chosen as the final stage of the Giro d’Italia several times.

The start will be in Morgex, the “heart” of Valdigna and a well-known tourist centre, from where you’ll climb for 10 km through the hairpin bends leading up to Colle San Carlo at an altitude of 1950 metres. The first part of the descent is steep and ends in La Thuille.

From here it continues to descend to the village of Pré-Saint-Didier, the last village before Courmayeur. The final part of the stage features a 6km climb with easy gradients that enters and ends in the historic centre of the last Italian municipality on the border with France.
