PEDALITALY GIRO DI SERA

PEDALITALY GIRO DI SERA spring edition is the circuit of virtual races that enable you to ride in Italy on the same roads and on the same days as the professionals battle during the first stage race of the season.

There are five stages that during the month of May will allow you to discover new and inspiring roads of Northern and Central Italy.

At sunset, we will all hop on our smart trainers to compete with indoor cyclists from all over the world. You can choose the time you prefer among the three time zones provided (Europe, Asia, USA).

The official stages of PEDALITALY Giro di Sera are open ONLY to the owners of SMART rollers.

THE 5 SCHEDULED STAGES

We start from Canelli, a town in the province of Asti, in the heart of the Monferrato area, a UNESCO heritage site. Cycling along with continuous ups and downs we will discover the Langhe of Piedmont from where we can admire the wine landscapes of this famous area. We then reach the town of Cessole in the Langhe of Asti and continue south along a plain surrounded by hazelnut trees, typical of this region. The arrival point is in Castino, in the province of Cuneo, famous for the production of the Piedmont Hazelnut.

The departure is positioned in the center of Alfedena, a town in the province of Aquila. The route continues towards north-west in the direction of Barrea, a tourist village from where you can enjoy the views of the celestial waters of the Barrea lake. Still admiring the peaks of the central Abruzzo Apennines, you reach Villetta Barrea, from where you take the turning that opens the doors onto the Abruzzo National Park continuing on until you reach the finish line at the top of the Godi Pass at an altitude of 1630 meters above sea level.

It starts from the town of Torrenieri, cycling along the historic Via Francigena to the village of Buonconvento. The road is surrounded by Crete Senesi, a context of rolling hills with oak and cypresse  trees. Once past the town of Buonconvento, we face a stretch of paved road that passes through the village of Bibbiano before returning back to the famous gravel roads of this area. The route continues on until you reach the finish line positioned in the town of Montalcino, a town of Etruscan origin famous all over the world for its Brunello vineyards.

Starting from the shores of the lake of Alleghe, ride along the Cordevole river until Caprile before turning west. Here you enter the Dolomites territory completely surrounded by the marvellous mountain landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue along the valley of the river Pettorina until Sottoguda, a small village that in 2016 was recognized as among the most beautiful villages in Italy.
