From the shores of Lake Garda to the legendary king of the Alps: the Stelvio Pass. 

Cycling in Trentino-Alto Adige is an amazing biking experience immersed between lakes, rivers, woods and meadows. The vineyards and apple orchards you will encounter during your rides will be the perfect invitation to enjoy the local flavors, whilst the Medieval castles are a witness to the outstanding history of this area. With its wealth of heritage, colors and fragrances, it’s the perfect place for a bike tour. The final part of this spectacular cycling trip in Trentino will allow you to put a tic on your bucket list, as you will take part in the Stelvio Bike day. Get ready for an unforgettable ride cycling along the road that takes you up to one of the highest passes in Italy, the Stelvio Pass in Italian Alps, also known as the world’s most stunning road climb.

Bike Tour Itinerary

Your unforgettable bike tour in Italy starts today! At 1 pm we will meet up for a typical Italian lunch and introductions followed by bike fittings and a short but spectacular warm-up ride. We will pedal along the cycle path of the Sarca river to reach the viewpoint at the foot of the Castle and enjoy the wonderful view of the city and the olive groves surrounding it. For those looking for an extra elevation gain there is the option to tackle the ascent up to the lake Loppio, nearby Riva del Garda.

Cycling: Distance 20 km – elevation gain 100 m | Extra Loop Distance 28.5 km – elevation gain 285 m

Today we will explore lake Garda! Starting from our Hotel in Riva del Garda we will cycle to Torri del Benaco and back to Riva again.  After the pleasant loop round the lakes coast, our legs will be warmed up ready to take on one of the locals’ favorites climbs up to the town of San Zeno di Montagna. For those looking to ride some extra miles there will be the option to cycle up the ascent to Punta Veleno. Before dinner we will visit a local winery for a delicious wine tasting and a guided visit learning about the traditions of the Garda’s area.

After two wonderful days in the Lake Garda area, today we will change location, leaving Riva del Garda, heading for Cles. During this beautiful ride we will cycle through a number of wonderful towns such as: Alto Garda e Ledro, Valle dei Laghi, Paganella and Valle di Non. For the first few kilometers we will ride on the cycle path next to the Sarca river before reaching Lake Cavedine from where we can admire the magnificent landscape. After a short coffee break we will begin to climb towards Lake Molveno, where we will stop for a well deserved but light lunch as the ride is not over yet. Once our lunch has settled we will continue cycling to Cles, this final part of the route is characterized by the presence of numerous apple trees, a unique feature of this area. The Valle di Non is famous for the cultivation of different varieties of apples, famous all over the world. Before dinner we will visit the Melinda Factory to discover the apple production and the local traditions related to this fruit.

Today will be a gentle and mellow day riding along the Adige river on one of Italy’s best bike paths. We will first head north toward Bolzano, surrounded by the epic scenery of Mt. Corno National Park. We will then head towards the Alto Adige region where Castles perched on the mountain sides will welcome us. After a traditional lunch in the area of Bolzano we will veer West towards Merano, following the Adige river course. This area has a truly unique temperate climate, this will become clear as we cycle immersed in a variety of flora before reaching the city of Merano. For those looking for some extra miles and elevation gain we have designed an extra loop we can do just before getting back to the hotel.

Today it’s important to relax so we will be at our best for the Stelvio Bike Day. Enjoy your time to explore Merano and its surroundings. A number of pleasant activities are available such as some easy trekking routes, a guided visit to the Castel Trauttmansdorff, one of the best european botanical gardens. For those willing to have a quick spin we can organize a gentle ride along a flat route around Merano.

This is the day we have all been waiting for: The Stelvio Bike Day! Every year, the road Passo Stelvio in the Italian Alps, also known as the world’s most stunning road climb, is closed to traffic for a cycling day. Tens of thousands of passionate cyclists gather for a truly scenic bike ride up the famous mountain pass. To enable you to live a truly unforgettable experience we have organized a train trip from Prato allo Stelvio?? to reach the departure point of this amazing event. We will tackle the hardest side of the Stelvio pass with its 48 hairpin bends before descending down the Umbrail pass towards Santa Maria. The loop around the Stelvio pass ends in Prato allo Stelvio, our meeting point to go back to the hotel all together. Once we arrive at our Hotel we’ll celebrate the epic ride with a final toast and a well deserved farewell dinner.

After a hearty breakfast, your guides will transfer you to the Venezia Airport (about 3 hours drive) or Verona Airport (about 2 hours drive) before saying “Arrivederci” until the next time.
